Szenen aus der Heritage in Sharjah, in denen die Menschen ihre reichhaltigen traditionellen Bräuche und Kultur vorführen, folgt eine Kamerafahrt zwischen den Städten Sharjah und Dubai. Sie gewährt den Blick über ein gigantisches Feld von im Bau befindlichen Skyscrapern. Auf Bauzäunen aufgebrachte Pläne dieser Bauvorhaben ziehen am Betrachter vorbei. Auf dem See vor dem größten Gebäude der Welt, dem Burji Khalifa bemühen sich Arbeiter von Booten aus, den Grund eines künstlichen Sees vom Sand der Wüste zu reinigen. Das Video zeigt die alte, traditionelle Welt in ihrer Verbindung mit Projekten, die in die Zukunft weisen. Nirgends sonst auf der Welt wurden in diesem Jahrtausend so viele gigantische Bauprojekte durchgeführt und geplant wie in Dubai. Mit gigantischen Projekten wie dem höchsten Turm der Welt, künstlichen Palmen-Inseln, einem Unterwasserhotel und einer Skihalle mitten in der Wüste will sich das Emirat eine prosperierende Zukunft „nach dem Öl“ sichern.

a camera ride between the cities of Sharjah and Dubai. It provides a view of a gigantic field of skyscrapers under construction. Mounted on the fences lining the construction site are construction plans which move past the observer.

On the lake in front of the largest building in the world, the Burji Khalifa, workers from boats try to clean the bottom of an artificial lake from the sand of the desert. The video shows the traditional old world in its connection with projects that point toward the future. Nowhere else in the world in this millennium have there been as many huge construction projects planned and carried out as in Dubai. With huge projects such as the tallest tower in the world, artificial palm islands, an underwater hotel and an indoor ski slope in the middle of the desert, the emirate wants to secure a prosperous future, "after the oil".
