Die Videoinstallation AUTUMN zeigt Baumkronen vor blauem Himmel nach unten und zur Seite gespiegelt und verweist darauf, dass unsere Welt auf grundsätzlichen Symmetrien basiert: Oben und unten, rechts und links, innen und außen – die Dimensionen scheinen immer einen spiegelbildlichen Widerpart zu besitzen. Und auch die Natur um uns herum spiegelt diese Symmetrie wieder: Die Blätter der Bäume, der sechszackige Stern der Schneeflocke, die symmetrischen Flügel eines Schmetterlings und auch wir selbst – alles scheint von einer allgegenwärtigen Ordnung, einem Grundmuster der Natur zu zeugen. Selbst im Universum mit seinen annähernd kugelförmigen Himmelskörpern, den geordneten Bahnen der Planeten und mehr oder weniger symmetrischen Galaxien und Spiralnebeln herrscht Symmetrie.

The video installation AUTUMN shows treetops mirrored downwards and sideways against a blue sky, pointing out that our world is based on fundamental symmetries: up and down, right and left, inside and outside - the dimensions always seem to have a mirror-image counterpart. And nature around us also reflects this symmetry: the leaves of the trees, the six-pointed star of the snowflake, the symmetrical wings of a butterfly, and even we ourselves - everything seems to bear witness to an omnipresent order, a basic pattern of nature. Even in the universe, with its approximately spherical celestial bodies, the orderly orbits of the planets and more or less symmetrical galaxies and spiral nebulae, symmetry prevails.
